In some countries this is considered a national holiday, in others, a celebration of love. Some people hate it, some people love it. Some people love to hate it, and some people hate to love it. Whatever your feelings towards this day, it’s out there and it’s happening right now.
Personally I am impartial towards it, my lovely niece shares
her birthday with this day so I tend to spend much of my time, love and money
on her. I think for me I tend to love and hate it in conjunction with the
particular mood I may be feeling on that day, but I usually don’t care too much
for it either way. However it should (and does) remind us that this day can
only really be a good thing. Whether you are in a relationship or not, I’m sure
many of you are in ‘ships’ of some sort…and I’m not talking about the Titanic,
that would be ridiculous, as it sunk.
Today I feel great, although slightly sad (devastatingly sad)
that my bestie has moved to Korea, South Korea that is, for a year. Although he’ll
probably end up in North Korea, through a series of unforeseeable circumstances.
Either way he’ll have a FANTASTIC time.
His travelling adventure, along with all these festive ‘Val
day’ celebrations reminds me of one thing and one thing only…Skegness - The
City of Love! DAMIT, I did it again…PARIS! I mean Paris! In the last 4 days
since my first post I have done absolutely NOTHING in preparation for this. Unless
of course you count the time I said ‘Parlez-vous anglais ?’ to someone at work the other day. Who am I kidding of course this
counts. Plus I had a glass of red wine and some cheese the other night, which I
think helped me a great deal in preparation for the cuisine over there. Next
for the STEAK!
‘Answers on a postcard’... (refer to last post ‘the first of
the first of the first’)
The jury is still out on Sal finding Sal…who knows if she
ever will find her. Qwerty is qwerty – look it up - you’re actually looking at
it right now! And as for the Macarena, it danced itself into a small black hole
and never returned…apart from to grace us with its presence on TAPE!

Next time on Your Head Not Mine… Can the word ‘Festive’ only be used at
Christmas? How DO crabs breathe? And what actually is IN Skegness? Tune in soon
to find out…BOOM!
